BENGALURU: Wipro SVP and global head of cyber security and risk services (CRS) Raja Ukil has resigned after 18 years with the firm. Ukil’s exit comes barely a year after he took charge as the head of CRS. He did several gigs including as chief information officer.
His colleague Sheetal Mehta has replaced him. When TOI contacted Wipro, the company confirmed Mehta's appointment as the global head of CRS, effective April 1, in addition to his current role as the chief information security officer (CISO).
Prior to his role as the CISO, Mehta led Wipro’s CRS unit for over a decade. He will continue to report to Wipro president and COO Bhanumurthy BM.
Wipro is ramping up its footprint in CRS as companies are remodeling their IT infrastructure after digital has altered the enterprise security landscape. With the rise of connected devices and transition to the cloud, cybersecurity threats continue to increase beyond the enterprise.
