OBC quota in medical admission: Stalin seeks support of all opposition parties

CHENNAI: DMK president M K Stalin on Wednesday requested the support of all opposition parties in the country to urge the central government to reserve medical seats for other backward classes as per Madras high court's judgment.
Stalin on Twitter stated: “After Madras high court’s historical judgment, I spoke to leaders of major political parties in India and sought their support to urge Centre to convene a committee and include OBC reservation in state contributed medical seats to All India Quota and uphold state reservation laws.

Stalin spoke to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury, CPI general secretary D Raja, Janata Das (S) chief Deve Gowda, RJD chief Lalu Prasad, YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy, TRS chief K Chandrasekara Rao, Shiv Sena chief Uddav Thackheray, TMC chief Mamata Bannerjee, BSP chief Mayawati, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, NCP chief Sharad Pawar and Jammu and Kashmir National Conference deputy chief Omar Abdullah.
