HYDERABAD: Chief secretary Somesh Kumar on Thursday directed officials to appoint a nodal officer for each ward and constitute a team to participate and take up ‘Pattana Pragati’ being taken up in all 141 urban local bodies in the state from February 24.
Speaking at a review meeting at BRKR Bhavan on Thursday, Kumar asked officials to collect details of the wards, municipality and form four committees with 15 members in each ward.

The municipal administration department has developed software for entry of details regarding the programme. Kumar reviewed the software and suggested to simplify it. Pattana Pragathi will focus on sanitation, Haritha Haram, plan for community toilets, integrated vegetable and non-veg markets and parks etc.
“A special survey to identify illiterate has to be conducted in GHMC and Cantonment,” he added. The finance department has released Rs 156 crores to GHMC and Rs 140 crores to municipalities under 14th Finance Commission grants for February and March.
