HYDERABAD: With only a few months left for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections, TRS working president KT Rama Rao has started interacting with city MLAs and holding review meetings on various developmental activities being taken up in their constituencies.
On Wednesday, KTR held a meeting at Pragati Bhavan with MLAs of Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency along with mayor Bonthu Rammohan, Medchal MLA and minister Ch Malla Reddy and MLAs of LB Nagar, Uppal, Kukatpally and Malkajgiri TRS incharge Rajasekhar Reddy.
KTR will be holding a meeting with MLAs of Secunderabad and Chevella LS constituencies on Thursday.
The government has taken up various projects in the city, especially focusing on construction of flyovers, while a special drive for construction of toilets and development of parks was also initiated.
KTR said the GHMC had utilised the lockdown period and completed road restoration works in the city. While the minister sought feedback on the works in the city, the MLAs told him that people were happy with the road works and other infrastructure projects that were taken up in their colonies.
LB Nagar MLA D Sudheer Reddy said the traffic problems at the LB Nagar chowrasta are a thing of the past now. The MLAs suggested every constituency should have ‘vaikuntadhamas’ (graveyards) on the lines of Mahaprasthanam in Jubilee Hills and works like beautification of lakes should be speeded up.
When the MLAs suggested that 2BHK houses be allotted to the poor at the earliest, KTR said 75,000 houses are ready for allotment in the city. “Footpaths and work on link roads and parks have been progressing at a brisk pace,” he said.
