MUMBAI: Days after recording an air quality index (AQI) in the poor and moderate category, the city's pollution levels improved on Tuesday. According to SAFAR, the city recorded an overall AQI of 88 on Tuesday, down from 178 on Monday. AQI between 51 and 100 is in the satisfactory category, and does not cause harm to one's health.

Air quality is expected to remain within the same range for the next three to four days.
Of 10 locations monitored by SAFAR, Navi Mumbai was most polluted with AQI 156. Cleanest air was at Bhandup and Colaba with AQI 53.
