Alibaug RoRo service resumes for Ganpati fest

MUMBAI: For speedy disposal of the festival rush, the RoRo ferry service that operates from Ferry Wharf to Alibaug will resume for a 15-day period, starting Thursday, for the Ganpati festival. The daily schedule for the M2M ship till August 30 has already been released.
The ferry travel is three hours shorter than road travel. Against its capacity of 500 passengers and 145 cars, it will now take 300 passengers and 60 cars.This was the first roll-on, roll-off ferry service, transporting passengers and vehicles, allowed to operate during monsoon.
