Maharashtra NCC battalion organises blood donation for Covid-19 patients
The voluntary blood donation camp was organised to help the Covid-19 patients who are in critical the need of blood on an almost daily basis
MUMBAI: The No 1 Maharashtra Battalion of NCC Mumbai ‘B’ group under the aegis of Maharashtra NCC Directorate organised a blood donation camp today, 9th September 2020, at the Gymkhana of B N Bandodkar College of Science, Thane.
The voluntary blood donation camp was organised to help the Covid-19 patients who are in critical the need of blood on an almost daily basis.
All required safety precautions and guidelines of AIIMS and ICMR were followed by the medical authorities of Nair Hospital during this camp apart from aspects of social distancing, usage of gloves, mask and sanitizer.
A total of 54 cadets and officials donated blood collecting 56 bottled units of blood during the camp. "This blood donation drive is the need of the hour in these trying times. We appeal to citizens of Thane to donate blood and save lives, be the real hero and a Corona warrior" said Lt. Col. S S Kadam, AO NCC.
The NCC Cadets continue to display the real Youth power and a proactive role in addressing various social issues, whenever called upon. A total of 74 cadets, along with 02 Officers, College Principal, 04 PI Staff, 04 Associate NCC Officers and Medical team took part in this camp.
