Here’s how government wants you to help in coronavirus fight
The government of India has launched a new platform and is encouraging citizens and organisations to do their bit in the fight against coronavirus pandemic. The website highlights mainly four areas of contributions where citizens and organisations can do their bit. These four areas are: health, communication, entrepreneurial, and essential services.

In a bid to step up its fight against coronavirus pandemic, government of India has launched a new platform encouraging citizens to do their part. Organisations and citizens can now volunteer in their capacity by donating essentials, creating awareness among other things.
According to a tweet by Abhishek Singh, CEO, MyGov, the platform is for citizens and organisations that want to volunteer in fight against COVID-19.Singh tweeted, “MyGov has launched a platform for citizens and organizations to volunteer in the fight against #COVID19 and also donate medical equipment and other commodities as #IndiaFightsCorona. This is in partnership with @ndmaindiaand @MoHFW_INDIA
The website highlights mainly four areas of contributions where citizens and organisations can do their bit. These four areas are: health, communication, entrepreneurial, and essential services. Those interested in volunteering under health can donate medical equipments, help in infection prevention and control as well as assist primary healthcare workers. What citizens can also do, as per the website is help elderly and those in need, dead body management and assist in transportation of patients.
Those who are entrepreneurs can help in logistics, providing IT-based solutions and more importantly assist in production of PPE, masks, sanitisers. One can also donate money and supplies through the website.
After going on the website, individuals and organisations can click on the ‘Volunteer Now’ tab and see how they can volunteer and help.
As per the numbers posted on the website, more than 50,000 volunteers have registered as of now. Over 2,200 organisations have also registered to volunteer. Citizens and organisations have donated over 1.28 lakh items as well. These numbers are updated periodically on the website.
