Ahead of US President Donald Trump’s visit, one of the eight aircraft of the presidential party landed at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International airport on Monday.
The aircraft, a Globemaster, arrived at the city airport with equipment and vehicles of the president’s motorcade. In all, two passenger aircraft and six cargo aircraft are scheduled to arrive at the city airport.
The two passenger aircraft include the president’s Air Force One.
The remaining six will carry security and other equipment. Four of these cargo aircraft will arrive between February 17 and 22, according to sources. “Arms, ammunition, and communication equipment will also be brought in one of these cargo aircraft,” said a well-placed source.
