BENGALURU: Karnataka on Thursday reported more than 6,000 Covid cases — the highest single-day spike yet — taking the total number infections in the state close to 1.2 lakh. The day saw 3,793 patients being discharged on recovery.
Of the 6,128 cases reported, Bengaluru accounted
for 2,233 cases. The state reported 83 Covid-19 deaths in 24 hours, taking the toll to 2,230.
With 22 deaths, Bengaluru’s toll rose to 1,009.
Karnataka has so far reported 1,18,632 positive cases and 69,700 of them are under treatment. The total patients discharged till now are 46,694. In the past 24 hours, Karnataka conducted 38,095 tests, including 20,488 rapid antigen detection tests.
