Covid-19 lockdown: Class XII exam results to be delayed in Tamil Nadu
CHENNAI: More than eight lakh candidates who wrote Class XII state board exams this year may have to wait longer to know their results as the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations (TNDGE) on Thursday postponed the evaluation of answer sheets scheduled to start on April 7.
Class XII students wrote the board exams from March 2 to 24. The exam results were scheduled to be released on April 24.
In the wake of Covid-19 lockdown, the TNDGE postponed evaluation work.
"Due to the prohibitory orders imposed by the state government, under Section 144 of the CrPC, evaluation work scheduled to start on April 7 has been postponed. The revised scheduled would be announced later," director of government exams C Usharani said in a circular.
Sources said the evaluation work would begin only after normalcy returns. The results could be released only in May, the said.
The state government has postponed Class X exams and the final exam for Class XI students.
