Corona Yuddham: When war against Covid-19 takes Ganesha pancharatnam route

CHENNAI: When musician Shriraam Bhagavath sang the Ganesha pancharatnam while putting his son to bed, his brother, Ramnath, was inspired to pen a song that would help humanity tide over the pandemic and lockdown. The result is ‘Corona Yuddham’, a song that speaks about the war between humanity and the coronavirus, which has garnered several views after it was posted on Facebook on April 12.
“The Ganesha pancharatnam is very popular. Lord Ganesha is considered to be the remover of all obstacles, so Ramnath felt that a song on corona set to the tune of the Ganesha pancharatnam can instil hope in humanity. Despite facing so many calamities, humanity has always overcome all odds,” says Shriraam, who has sung the number along with his brother.
‘Corona Yuddham’ speaks about the virus, the global lockdown, economic crisis, social distancing and prevention; extolls frontline warriors and ends by instilling hope in people that the virus will soon be destroyed.
“We have got a lot of positive feedback. An online chanting group even asked Ramnath to talk about the song and sing it at their chanting session,” says Shriraam.
