CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations has asked chief educational officers not to allow more than eight teachers per room while evaluating Class XII answer scripts.
The evaluation of Class XII answer sheets is scheduled to begin in more than 100 centres on May 27.
"To maintain the social distancing during evaluation of Class XII answer scripts, only six assistant examiners, one scrutiny officer and chief examiner should be allowed per hall during evaluation of answer sheets," said director of government examinations C Usharani in a circular on Wednesday.

As per the earlier system, every hall would accommodate three chief examiners and same number of scrutiny officers and 18 assistant examiners.
The circular directed all district officials to disinfectant the evaluation centres every day before work begins and also make arrangements for soap and sanitizers at the centres. The director said all teachers involved in paper evaluation work should wear masks.
Nearly 20,000 teachers would correct 48 lakh answer scripts till June 9. The results are likely to be released in the third week of June.
More than eight lakh students wrote the exams that were conducted from March 2 to 24.
