Isha Leadership Academy hosts Isha Insight
At a four-day leadership intensive programme—‘Insight - the DNA Of Success’, S Somanath, Director, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre spoke to youngsters on leadership, work culture and more. The programme was organised from November 27 to 30th at the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore. He spoke on organisational structure and culture, team building, training, leadership and the art of dealing with failure at Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
Somanath, who is heading a high-level committee constituted by the ISRO to prepare a report on the proposed Chandrayaan-3, shared his expertise on the work culture at ISRO and said, “It is of paramount importance to appreciate the significance and contribution of employees’ work towards the success of organisational goals. When one doesn’t look at work as work, it suddenly becomes recreational in nature. I haven’t worked for the last 20 years and instead have simply enjoyed himself every day at work.”
Giving significant importance to learning from one’s mistake, he said that India was the very first country to take a satellite in their maiden mission to Mars because they learnt from the mistakes of their counterparts in America and Europe.
Besides, Somnath, former Vice Chairman, Tata Steel, Balasubramanian Muthuraman and founder and Group CEO, Make My Trip Ltd, Deep Kalra were the key resource leaders at the programme leaders this year.
Insight - the DNA Of Success, designed by Jaggi Vasudev aka Sadhguru, explores the science of scaling up one’s business as well as one’s own self, melding business with self-awareness. The programme was conducted first in 2012 by the Isha Leadership Academy. This year they received 219 corporate leaders from 17 states and 12 countries across 5 continents into the unique residential program. A motley mix of people streamed in from multiple industries like agriculture, textiles, retail, healthcare, manufacturing technology, IT, engineering to name a few.
