NEW DELHI: Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari said his party had received over 11 lakh suggestions from across the city during the Meri Dilli, Mera Sujhav (My Delhi, My Suggestion) campaign, which would be kept in mind while finalising the election manifesto for the upcoming state polls.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Tiwari said BJP had sought the views of Delhiites on what they think should be the party’s priority after forming government in the capital, and the suggestions received were overwhelming.
“The views of the residents of Delhi clearly indicate that they are not happy with the condition of roads, supply of contaminated water, unemployment, and vacancies of teachers and principals in state-run schools,” he said.
“We received 11,65,636 suggestions from Delhiites where they have shared their concerns. Several people told us that after two hours of rains, the roads get waterlogged. Pollution is another major issue. Unemployment and vacancies of teachers and principals were prominently mentioned. People of Delhi are in pain,” the Delhi BJP chief said. The press conference was also attended by Rajya Sabha member Vijay Goel and New Delhi MP Meenakshi Lekhi.
“Our teams are compiling the suggestions. We will draft a timeline to work on the each of them,” he added.
Tiwari said that BJP volunteers also collected suggestions from people by directly placing ‘drop boxes’ at over 2,000 places in the city. He said that party volunteers also interacted with over 3.5 lakh respondents and encouraged them to submit feedbacks.
Around 49 customised vans, equipped with digital screens, were sent to all assembly constituencies and major commercial centres, universities and other public places to collect the views of Delhiites.
