Addressing a press conference, Javadekar said it was for the people of Delhi to decide if they wanted “Jinnah wali azaadi” or “Bharat Mata ki jai”.
He added that AAP and Congress were “instigating” violent protests against the CAA in Delhi.
With just two weeks to the Delhi assembly elections, the BJP leadership has sharpened the attack on the ruling AAP and Congress over the CAA and continuing protests at Shaheen Bagh. At his first public meeting since the polls have been announced, Union home minister Amit Shah on Thursday targeted the two parties accusing them of instigating riots over the issue.
Javadekar said the people of Delhi should ask both AAP and Congress why did they instigate violence. “The nexus of AAP and Congress is behind the Shaheen Bagh protest. Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy have supported the protest,” Javadekar alleged. “They are misleading and poisoning the minds of the minorities, including children.” Javadekar asserted that CAA was not going to affect the citizenship of any Indian and blamed the other two parties for raising the bogey of the CAA and NRC to defeat BJP.
