NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday named Adesh Kumar Gupta as the new president of the party's Delhi Unit.
The former mayor of the north Delhi municipal corporation, and the councillor from West Patel Nagar area of the national capital, Gupta, takes over from Bhojpuri actor and singer-turned-politician Manoj Tiwari.

"BJP national President JP Nadda has appointed Adesh Kumar Gupta as the Delhi unit President of BJP," read a letter by party's National General Secretary Arun Singh.

Manoj Tiwari was appointed as Delhi BJP president in 2016 replacing Satish Upadhyay.
Tiwari had offered to quit after the BJP lost to the Aam Aadmi Party in the Delhi assembly polls and his term was also over.
