NEW DELHI: Photographs released by Delhi Police on Friday in its briefing on last Sunday's violence in Jawaharlal Nehru University were exact replicas of those tweeted earlier by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad leaders, AltNews has pointed out. The fact-checking website noted that even the captions accompanying the photographs released by the police were identical to those in the ABVP tweets, including grammatical and spelling errors.

For instance, the photograph of Aishe Ghosh, the JNUSU president, which the police released, had a caption that described her as "leading her masked violent comrade gang", unusual usage for a police release, but an exact reproduction of the one tweeted by ABVP Delhi joint secretary Anima Sonkar.
Similarly, the caption on the photo of Chunchun Kumar, a former JNU student affiliated to AISA, said: "Peltin stone With stick in hand....) in both the police print-out and an earlier tweet by ABVP's national organising secretary Ashish Chauhan.
Such amazing coincidences were pointed out by AltNews in each of the photos of Left students the police released, leading the website to ask: "Delhi police probe or ABVP investigation?"
