NEW DELHI: An unrequited love pushed a 24-yearold Staff Selection Commission (SSC) aspirant to allegedly commit suicide at his rented accommodation in north Delhi’s Burari on Saturday morning. The deceased, Shakti Kumar, had a note pasted on his palm confessing his love for the woman.
Police said Kumar, who hails from Begusarai in Bihar, had recently returned from his village after spending a month and a half with his family.

On Saturday, around 11am, police received information from D block, Kamalpur in Burari about the suicide. When a police team reached the area, it found that the door of Kumar’s room bolted from inside. The cops broke open the door and found him hanging from the ceiling fan using a bedsheet. On his palm was a yellow sticky note that had I love you note. Kumar resided with two friends in the flat in which he had a room to himself. “We spoke to his friends who said on Friday night he spoke to them but seemed unhappy. Later in the morning, they kept knocking, and when he did not respond, they called for PCR,” police said.
