NEW DELHI: Cops in Delhi's Dwarka were kept on their toes on Tuesday after three back-to-back firing incidents were reported from the area.
The first two incidents took place outside two jewellery shops within a distance of 100 metres in Najafgarh. Police said the firing at the jewellery shops were done by the same accused. The third case of firing was outside a builder's house in Bindapur.

"Prima facie, it appears that the firing outside the jewellery store was done to scare the owner by a local gangster for extortion," said a cop.
According to police, the first incident was reported outside Gehna Jewellers around 3.30pm, when two men on a motorcycle drove outside the shop and fired two rounds.
As people in the area came out after hearing the gunshots, the same men went 100 metres ahead and fired at another jewellery store. Probe revealed that the firing outside the store was on the instruction of local gangster, identified as Sachin alias Bhanja.
The third incident was reported from Bindapur around 5.30pm, when two bike-borne men opened fire outside a builder's house.
