Air Marshal Vipin takes charge of AFA
HYDERABAD: Air Marshal IP Vipin took over as Commandant of Air Force Academy (AFA), Dundigal, on Saturday from Air Marshal J Chalapati, who has proceeded to Southern Air Command, Thiruvananthapuram, to assume charge as Senior Air Staff Officer.
An alumnus of NDA, Khadakwasla; Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and National Defence College, New Delhi, Air Marshal Vipin was commissioned into the flying branch of Indian Air Force in June 1982.
The Air Marshal has over 6,000 hours of flying experience on different types of transport and trainer aircraft and gliders.
In his IAF career spanning over 38 years, he held a number of instructional, staff and command appointments. His instructional stints were at NDA, basic flying training school and fixed wing training faculty at Air Force Station, Yelahanka. He also served at NDC, Delhi, as a senior directing staff.
