Telangana: Police complaint against TRS MLA'S PA for using abusive language against woman doctor
HYDERABAD: The personal assistant (PA) of a TRS MLA allegedly used filthy language against a woman PG Doctor in MGM Hospital, Warangal district besides reportedly hurling a chair at her on Saturday night.
Matwada police said that at 11.30am on Saturday, a patient named Sai Krishna went to MGM hospital after a needle was struck deep into his body.
After the first aid, the patient was advised to undergo a surgery.
However, he was allegedly kept waiting till 9pm when Sai Krishna’s relative Chaitanya, who is the PA of an MLA, reached there and questioned a PG doctor, Sowmya Sada, about the undue delay.
The doctor reportedly suggested the patient to come on Thursday to undergo surgery and this further annoyed Chaitanya. This led to a heated argument between Chaitanya and Sowmya.
"As per the complaint given by PG doctor Sowmya, Chaitanya used abusive language besides hurling a chair at her in the Emergency ward. But there were no independent witnesses to corroborate the chair attack alegation, the investigation is still being done to ascertain the facts," Matwada police told TOI.
Following this incident, junior doctors staged a protest on Saturday night and suspended work for some time. The agitating doctors were convinced by seniors to resume their duties following an assurance of action against the accused.
A case was registered against Chaitanya by Matwada police on the charge of restraining a government official on duty. The accused was taken into custody and he might be arrested soon.
