MUMBAI: It has been over two months since
domestic air travel resume on May 25 and a survey by Mumbai
airport said one in two passengers is open to
boarding flights for work or business.
In initial weeks after domestic air travel resumed, most who boarded flights were stranded in cities and flying back home on one-way tickets. Fifty-five percent passengers said they were likely to travel for work or business, compared to 43% who were going back home,’’ said Mumbai
International Airport Ltd (MIAL), quoting findings of Restart Feedback survey, which collected responses from 1,386 passengers.
It added that passengers were happy with safety measures undertaken by the airport and were ready to fly twice a month.
Flyers are eagerly awaiting return to normalcy of flight operations and are looking forward to international leisure travel, said MIAL. “A solid 98% passengers flying to and from Mumbai found the airport safer than bus or train stations, while 99.6% found air travel most reliable given the
pandemic,’’ it added.
