The offering, worth approximately Rs 14 crore, is the single largest donation of gold to the shrine.
Aadesh Bandekar, chairman of the temple trust, said, "The New Delhi devotee is a bullion trader.
Around three months back, he met us, and took measurements of the dome and six doors. He crafted the gold leaf and installed it. The refurbished inner sanctorum makes a splendid sight."

Bandekar said the largesse reflects the trust worshippers repose. Deposits and investments multiplied to Rs 410 crore in 2019, up from Rs 320 crore in 2017.
