Five more test positive for Covid-19 in Kurnool, tally goes up to 82

Five more patients tested positive for Covid-19 in Kurnool district in the last 12 hours, taking the tally of total number of coronavirus patients in the district to 82 on Saturday.

TIRUPATI: Five more patients tested positive for Covid-19 in Kurnool district in the last 12 hours, taking the tally of total number of coronavirus patients in the district to 82 on Saturday.
According to district collector G Veerapandian, the district administration had sent the samples of 108 primary contacts of Covid-19 patients who were linked to the Delhi Jamaat meet, for medical examination.

The district administration which received the sample results of 108 patients, confirmed that five patients tested positive for Covid-19, while 103 patients tested negative for coronavirus.
With five more patients testing positive for coronavirus, the total number of Covid-19 patients in the district shot up to 82, which is the highest in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Meanwhile, following a spike in the number of Covid-19 cases in the district to an alarming level, Kurnool district administration declared that all the chicken, meat and fish markets across the district will remain closed on Sunday.
Pointing out that chicken, meat and fish stalls have turned out to be likely hotspots for the outbreak of coronavirus as these places have been attracting large gathering of people, district collector G Veerapandian appealed to the people to cooperate with the district administration and the local police to contain the further outbreak of coronavirus.
