It was during the shoot of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan that I met him for the first time, in Pondichery.I had seen him from a long distance when he had visited my college earlier. This time, I had gone with other fans and we had taken a cake along with us as his wife’s birthday happened to be on that same day. We met him at the hotel he was staying in and he spoke to us very casually. He asked us if we had been waiting there for a long time and apologised to us for sleeping longer than usual. He received our gift and told us that he’d cut the cake later. He insisted that we have food before leaving and then patiently posed for photos with us. What amazed all of us was his polite nature — even while talking to the security at the hotel. That’s not something that every artiste does. Later, we met a few times more. He advised me not to spend lot of time following him around and watching movies.

Sethu anna is someone who doesn’t encourage us to do crazy things. He often insists that we work more instead. So, the only way for us to celebrate him or show our love for him is by watching his films many times in movie halls. Among his films, it is Sethupathi that I have seen the most. I remember watching it more than two times every day on the first week of its release.
