Simbu and Shruti Haasan to act in the remake of Rajini and Kamal’s Aval Appadithaan?

Aval Appadithaan directed by C Rudhraiya has been a landmark film in the acting career of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. Though the duo has acted together in more than 15 films, Aval Appadithaan stood out for their acting prowess. The film had Sri Priya as the heroine, playing Manju, a bold woman who preferred to live her life in her own terms. While Kamal essayed the role of a feminist, Rajini portrayed a male chauvinist in the film.
Now, director Badri Venkatesh has expressed his desire to remake the film with Shruti Haasan in the role of Sripriya. It is reported that he has spoken to her about it. He has also revealed the he would like to have Simbu playing Rajini's role and Vijay Deverakonda or Dulquer Salmaan can fill in for the role played by Kamal. It’s reported that since the director of the original is no more, the team is on the lookout for the person who is owning the rights of the movie, so that they can initiate discussions to acquire it.
Badri Venkatesh who debuted as director with 'Baana Kathadi' is now busy with the post-production work of 'Plan Panni Pannanum' starring Rio Raj, Ramya Nambeesan, Robo Shankar, Bala Sarvanan and MS Bhaskar, among others.
