As it has been five years since SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali: The Beginning released Prabhas’ fans trended #5YearsForBaahubaliRoar on social media.
Baahubali did not just make an impact in the Telugu states upon its release, but it has also garnered fame not just in the country, but also worldwide ever since. The film opened to a spectacular response and thundering box office collections which shattered records back then.
Every Telugu film that makes good money is still considered as a ‘non Baahubali record’.
The team of Baahubali released a video on the occasion, put together by producer Shobu Yarlagadda’s son Karthikeya Yarlagadda. The video shows the kind of impact the film created then and how it went on to receive accolades from critics. The team of Baaubali shared the video and wrote, “It's heartening to see that even after 5 years, India is hailing #Baahubali and #5YearsForBaahubaliRoar is a top trend in India! Thank you audience for making our film a major milestone that will be celebrated for as long as Indian cinema is alive. Jai Maahishmathi!” (sic) The cast of the film, including Prabhas, Rana, Anushka and Tamannaah too shared the video, reminiscing about the film.

The movie became the talk of the town back then as SS Rajamouli had left viewers with the question of why Kattappa, played by Satyaraj, had killed Baahubali. Though theories went haywire, the answer to that question only came two years later in Baahubali: The Conclusion, which hit screens in 2017.
Baahubali has not only put Tollywood on the global map but it also helped the actors to gain immense popularity. Prabhas, who played the roles of Amarendra Baahubali and Mahendra Baahubali has become an Indian superstar as it opened up his market to pan-India. Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah were seen as Devasena and Avantika, while Rana Daggubati played the feared Bhallaladeva. Prabhas is now acting in the romantic drama Radhe Shyam with Pooja Hegde.
