Airtel's new roaming feature may solve subscribers 'biggest hassle'

Telecom operator Airtel has good news for its users flying abroad. The company has revamped its international roaming services by introducing features like real-time usage tracking, pre-booking the roaming packs and more. It has also introduced three new global packs offering 1GB data per day with a validity of up to 30 days.
Using the real-time tracking feature, Airtel users can track their international roaming pack usage using the Airtel Thanks app.It will be available for both postpaid as well as prepaid customers. Also, Airtel prepaid users can now pre-book their international roaming pack up to 30 days prior to the travelling date. The plan’s validity will begin once the user connects to an international network. This feature is already available to Airtel postpaid customers.
Taking care of the unwanted data usage and charge to the customers, Airtel will debar data services once the user exhaust data offered under the pack. Customers can opt for another pack or a top-up via the Airtel Thanks app. Lastly, Airtel users can enable or disable international roaming services from the Airtel Thanks app.
As mentioned above, the telco has also introduced three new global packs. These include Rs 799, Rs 1,199 and Rs 4,999 packs. Talking about Rs 4,999 global pack, users will get 1GB data per day along with unlimited incoming calls and unlimited incoming SMS for a validity of 10 days. The plan offers 500 minutes of outgoing calls to India and host countries.
The Rs 1,199 plan comes with a validity of 30 days and offers unlimited incoming SMS with 100 minutes of incoming and outgoing calls to India and the host country. Airtel Rs 799 global pack offers 100 minutes of incoming and outgoing calls to India and the host country along with unlimited incoming SMS for a period of 30 days.
