First showcased at CES 2020 in January, Samsung has now launched its Odyssey G9 curved QLED gaming monitor with 240Hz refresh rate. The Odyssey G9 is claimed to be the first monitor certified to support HRD10+. The 49-inch G9 offers dual Quad HD 5120×1440 pixels resolution with 1000R curvature. The G9 delivers rapid 1ms response time with a 240Hz refresh rate and QLED picture quality for gaming in dual QHD.
The Odyssey G9 further also offers enhanced gameplay experience, with NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatibility and Adaptive Sync.
The G9 comes with a glossy white exterior. It also houses Infinity Core Lighting, which allows 52 different colors and five lighting effect options behind the display. This monitor will be available in June globally.

This further solidifies Samsung’s leadership in the global gaming monitor market, with innovation happening at an unprecedented rate Samsung’s Odyssey G9 curved gaming monitor takes immersive gaming to the next level, giving any gamer the upper hand,” said said Hyesung Ha, senior vice president of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.
Meanwhile, the Odyssey G7 offers Quad-High Definition (QHD; 2560×1440 resolution), 16:9 aspect ratio and HDR600 VA panel are complemented by a 600 cd/m2 peak brightness. Additionally, the G7’s comes with a QLED screen with Quantum dot technology. It comes in 32-inch and 27-inch sizes.
The G7 has been completely redesigned with a sleek, matte black exterior and color-changing rear core lighting that can remain static or dim during gameplay.
