'Has Cong outsourced task of defeating BJP to regional parties?' Sharmistha slams Chidambaram

Infighting erupts in Congress as Chidambaram congratulates AAP on poll victory
NEW DELHI: Has the Congress outsourced the task of defeating BJP to state parties, Congress leader Sharmistha Mukherjee asked P Chidambaram after the latter praised AAP for defeating BJP in Delhi assembly polls.
"With due respect, sir, just want to know- has Congress outsourced the task of defeating BJP to state parties? If not, then why are we gloating over AAP victory rather than being concerned abt our drubbing? And if ‘yes’, then we (PCCs) might as well close shop!" an angry Mukherjee said in response to Chidambaram's tweet on AAP's victory.

On Tuesday, following AAP's decisive victory in the Delhi assembly polls, Chidambaram had showered lavish praises on the Kejriwal-led party and congratulated it for defeating the "polarising, divisive and dangerous agenda of the BJP".
"AAP won, bluff and bluster lost. The people of Delhi, who are from all parts of India, have defeated the polarising, divisive and dangerous agenda of the BJP. I salute the people of Delhi who have set an example to other states that will hold their elections in 2021 and 2022," the senior Congress leader tweeted on Tuesday.
Congress recorded its worst performance in Delhi — a state where it had been in power for 15 years. Not only did it failed to open its score for the second consecutive time, but its vote share also plummeted to an abysmal 4.26%.
The Aam Aadmi Party once again swept the Delhi assembly poll by winning 62 seats in the 70-seat assembly. The BJP could manage only eight seats — five more than its 2015 tally.
