Weight loss story: “I lost 25 kilos after my break up and now I want a physique like John Abraham”
When faced with a difficult situation, different people react differently. So, when 20-year-old Prince Areeb realised that his relationship was going nowhere, he actually took it as a motivation to lose weight. His drastic weight loss is an example of what a positive spirit and never say die attitude can do to your life!

Duration it took me to lose weight:6 months
The turning point: From the health conditions that stem from the growing weight to not being able to find clothes of your size, there are a lot of things that leave you upset when you are overweight.
Even though I had a lot of reasons to get back in shape, my breakup certainly remains the turning point of my weight loss journey! I knew that I needed to do something to get back in shape and the breakup gave me the much-needed boost!

My breakfast: 1 carrot + 1 apple + a bowl of plain oats and 1 litre of water
My lunch: 100 grams boiled chicken+ fresh salad+ 1 litre water
My dinner: 4 boiled eggs(only the white part)+ a small portion of rice + any curry
Pre-workout meal:1 banana+1 glass of warm water with a dash of lemon and honey+ 2 almonds ( I have them 20 minutes before working out)
Post-workout meal: I have a portion of watermelon or any fresh fruit
I indulge in: Being a Hyderabadi, Biryani is certainly on the top of my cheat day list! Pizza and ice cream come a close second!
My workout: My exercise routine is as follows:
1.30 minutes of warm up
2.20 minutes of cardio
3. 30 minutes of abs workout and heavy lifting
4. 20 minutes of stretching
Low-calorie recipes I swear by: I absolutely love chicken vindaloo. It is healthy and tasty both.
Fitness secrets I unveiled: Even though workout and staying physically active are really important factors in losing weight, your diet certainly plays a major role. So, you need to chalk out a healthy meal plan and stick to the same.
How do I stay motivated? One of the biggest motivating factors in my life is undoubtedly my gym coach. He has ensured that I do not leave my journey midway and always pushed me towards a healthier lifestyle.
How do you ensure you don’t lose focus? I don’t want to stop till the time I achieve a body just like John Abraham as even my ex admired the way he looked!
What’s the most difficult part of being overweight? When you put on a lot of weight, one of the first things that happen is that you are no longer able to wear the clothes of your choice. It was really heartbreaking as I wasn’t able to dress the way I wanted because of my weight.
What shape do you see yourself 10 years down the line? After 10 years, I want to have a physique similar to John Abraham.
What are the lifestyle changes you made? One of the biggest lifestyle changes that I made was to shun all the junk food and packaged products and started eating healthier. I also charted out my workout routine and strictly followed the same.
What was the lowest point for you? While there were a lot of times in my life when I felt heartbroken due to my weight, my break up was the lowest point for sure.
Lessons learnt from weight loss: One of the most important lessons that I have learnt on this journey is as long as you continue to work in the direction of your dreams, you will definitely achieve them. If you have the perseverance and dedication, anything is possible.
