CLAIM
A graphic card with Ratan Tata's photo, and text attributing an announcement to him, is viral on social media platforms and WhatsApp. The text says, "Big announcement by Ratan Tata sahab: From now on, Tata Group of companies not to recruit any of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students," and "Those who can't be faithful to the country, how can we expect them to be faithful to the company (sic)."

TRUTH
Ratan Tata has not made any such announcement, and this was clarified by the Tata Group in 2016 itself, when the false announcement attributed to Tata went viral first.

VERIFICATION AND METHODOLOGY
A simple search on Google using keywords 'Ratan Tata JNU recruiment' led us to a PTI report titled 'Ratan Tata has not made any comments on JNU: Tata Group', published in the Economic Times on February 15, 2016.
