JAMMU:
Pakistan on Tuesday violated
ceasefire for the second consecutive day along the Line of Control (LoC), resorting to unprovoked firing of small arms and mortar shelling in three
sectors of Jammu’s
Poonch district, a defence spokesperson said.
“Around 11am, Pakistani troops initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms and shelled mortars targeting forward areas along the LoC in Shahpur, Kirni and Qasba sectors of Poonch district, to which
Indian Army retaliated effectively.
The cross-border fire exchange continued till 12.45pm,” Jammu-based defence spokesperson Lt Col Devender Anand said.
This is the second such breach of truce in the past 24 hours.
