Rajasthan BJP has sounded the poll bugle with the meeting between party leaders of Rajasthan, chief minister Vasundhara Raje and party national president Amit Shah which was held in New Delhi on Wednesday.

With possibilities of state BJP getting a new state president in coming days, the meeting is said to have discussed preparations for the upcoming Assembly election and the subsequent general elections. The importance of this meeting can be judged by the fact that Yunus Khan, state transport minister and close aide of Raje left his foreign tour midway and came back to Delhi to attend the meeting.

The meeting, in New Delhi, was scheduled at 3 pm and continued for about an hour. Home minister Gulab Chand Kataria and parliamentary affairs minister Rajendra Rathore were the first ones to come out of the meeting.

Speaking to media persons, Kataria said that party will be starting “vikas yatra” for giving message to people about various developmental works carried out by state government as well as Union government. He informed government had made several policies for the welfare of the people including farm loan waiver scheme which will benefit large number of farmers. Rathore claimed that the division of works related to elections will be done in the coming days.

The highlight of this meeting was a 15-20 minute one-on-one meeting between Raje and Shah. This meeting took place just after meeting between Shah and state BJP leaders ended. Earlier during the day, several ministers from state including Rajpal Singh, Dr Rampratap, Gulab Chand Kataria, Rajendra Rathore, Arun Chaturvedi, Yunus Khan, Rajya Sabha MPs Kirodi Lal Meena, Ramnarayan Dudi, Ashok Parnami etc, met in Rajasthan House and later met Raje over lunch at Bikaner House. Raje and her ministers will be staying in Delhi on Thursday too, say sources.
