While one waits to see when theatres will reopen, it would be nice to start off with light-hearted movies.

Comedy, after all, is just what the doctor ordered in these dire times of coronavirus.

Joginder Tuteja looks at the light-hearted films coming up for release when things return to normal.

Bunty Aur Babli 2

Rani Mukerji returns with Bunty Aur Babli 2, this time with Saif Ali Khan for company.

Both actors are known for their comic timing, and the film will certainly brighten up the mood.

Gully Boy's Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh are also part of the film.

Laxmmi Bomb

Will it come straight on OTT? Or will it wait for a theatrical release? Speculation is rife about Akshay Kumar's horror comedy, Laxmmi Bomb.

Akshay is all set on bring on the laughs with Kiara Advani.

Coolie No 1

After Judwaa, Varun Dhawan reunites with dad David Dhawan to bring back the old classic, Coolie No 1.

Varun will be seen opposite Sara Ali Khan.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2

Kartik Aaryan has done well time and again in light-hearted movies like Luka Chuppi, Pati Patni Aur Woh, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and the Pyaar Ka Punchnama series.

Now, he's set to go all out in the horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 with Sirector Anees Bazmee.

Kiara Advani, who was quite funny in Good Newwz, is the leading lady.

Kartik has the Dostana sequel lined up as well.

Produced by Karan Johar, this will be directed by Collin D'Cunha (in the picture) along with Janhvi Kapoor and newcomer Laksh Lalwani.

This comedy, centered on gay relationships, should be a laugh riot.

Jayeshbhai Jordaar

For an actor who can bring on the humour even in an action drama like Simmba, Ranveer Singh is brilliant at entertaining audiences with his comic timing.

After two serious performances (Arjun Reddy and Bamfaad), one waits to see Shalini Pandey in a light film.

Indoo Ki Jawani

With Kabir Singh and Good Newwz behind her and Laxmmi Bomb and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 lined up, Kiara is set to have a funny year ahead with Indoo Ki Jawani also lined up for release.

The very title conveys a naughty comedy in the offering.

Roohi Afzana

Rajkummar Rao showed off his comic side in the horror comedy, Stree.

He returns with another film in the same genre, this time with Janhvi Kapoor, in Roohi Afzana.

Funny guys Varun Sharma and Pankaj Tripathi are also in the cast.
