With theatres shutting down, night clubs and restaurants closed and self-isolation being the latest key word, all eyes may just have turned to television.

So what are the best shows to watch on the digital platform?

Joginder Tuteja offers a guide.

Special Ops
Where to watch: Hotstar

Special Ops comes from the house of Neeraj Pandey, the man behind thrillers like A Wednesday and Baby.

A 19-year chase centered on the capturing of a mastermind terrorist, the show is led by Kay Kay Menon with a compelling supporting cast.

The series is already earning rave reviews.

Mentalhood
Where to watch: ALT Balaji and ZEE5

For mothers who are now facing the situation of kids not going to school and husbands working from home, Mentalhood couldn't have come at a more relevant time.

Karisma Kapoor is endearing in this 10-episode series, which tells the story about how a neighbourhood of moms bring up their kids.

Asur
Where to watch: Voot Select

Tagged as 'India's first mytho-thriller series', Asur could well be India's answer to the dark and disturbing series, True Detective.

Marking Arshad Warsi's debut in the Web space, this one doesn't hold back.

The supporting cast of Barun Sobti, Anupriya Goenka, Ridhi Dogra and Sharib Hashmi is interesting too.

The Forgotten Army
Where to watch: amazon Prime

Directed by Kabir Khan, who has helmed political thrillers like New York and Kabul Express, The Forgotten Army is a mini-series featuring Sunny Kaushal and Sharvari Wagh.

It narrates the journey and sacrifices of the Indian National Army during World War II.

State of Siege: 26/11
Where to watch: ZEE5

Centered on the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, State of Siege: 26/11 is set to arrive on the screen soon.

The trailer of this action thriller has been impressive.

Led by Arjan Bajwa, who plays an NSG commando, the show also stars Arjun Bijlani, Mukul Dev, Vivek Dahiya and Tara Alisha Berry.

Marzi
Where to watch: Voot Select

What really happened that night?

This could well be the question arising out of Marzi, which is set as a roller coaster ride featuring Rajeev Khandelwal and Aahana Kumra.

This one is different from the murder mystery Criminal Justice as it centres around accusations, arguments and counter arguments.

Bhaukaal
Where to watch: MX Player

For those who like their drama to be rustic, there is Bhaukaal, set in Muzaffarnagar.

Just like Mirzapur, this one is also about gangsters, lawlessness, cops and the drama that ensues.

Mohit Raina, in a cop role, plays the lead.

It Happened in Calcutta
Where to watch: ZEE5 and ALT Balaji

For those whose hearts beat for romantic drama and emotion, It Happened in Calcutta could make for an engaging watch.

Set in '60s Calcutta, and flip-flopping between the early '70s when Pakistan declared war on India, this one has a love story brewing between Karan Kundra and newcomer Naghma Rizwan, both playing doctors.

Jamtara - Sabka Number Ayega
Where to watch: Netflix

Jamtara - Sabka Number Ayega is a crime series, which has its roots in phishing scams prevalent across the country, though with its epicenter in Jamtara, Jharkhand.

Starring primarily newcomers, this 10-part series unveils real and relatable situations and makes one wonders how easy it is to get scammed.

The Inside Edge 2
Where to watch: Amazon Prime

The most expensive, polished and big screenworthy series of 2019, Inside Edge 2 is a good watch, especially since the IPL has been pushed ahead.

Based on a tournament which is eerily similar to the cricket series, this one calls a spade a spade towards match fixing and betting.

The series stars Vivek Oberoi, Tanuj Virwani, Aamir Bashir, Angad Bedi and Richa Chadha.
