Share market update: FMCG shares trade higher; Emami jumps 6%

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares were trading trading higher in Tuesday's session.

Shares of Emami (up 5.81 per cent) , United Breweries (up 3.24 per cent) , Nestle India (up 3.17 per cent) , United Spirits (up 2.99 per cent) , Britannia Industries (up 2.52 per cent) , Colgate Palmolive (India) (up 1.71 per cent) , Marico (up 1.56 per cent) , Dabur India (up 1.12 per cent) , Godrej Consumer Products (up 0.79 per cent) and TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS (up 0.44 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.73 per cent up at 30188.95 around 02:02PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 56.10 points at 10368.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 178.42 points at 35139.94.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, BHEL, BEL, Ashok Leyland, SAIL, Tata Motors, ITC, SBI, Tata Steel and ICICI Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
