Share market update: FMCG shares trade lower; ITC dips 1%

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares were trading lower in Thursday's session.

Shares of P & G Hygiene (down 3.07 per cent) , Marico (down 1.36 per cent) , Jubilant Foodworks (down 1.08 per cent) , ITC (down 1.04 per cent) , Godrej Consumer Products (down 0.86 per cent) , Colgate Palmolive (India) (down 0.68 per cent) , Britannia Industries (down 0.59 per cent) , Dabur India (down 0.57 per cent) , Hindustan Unilever (down 0.51 per cent) and Nestle India (down 0.44 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.55 per cent down at 30605.5 around 02:09PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 90.25 points at 10796.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 345.81 points at 36674.82.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, SAIL, BHEL, SBI, Hindalco Inds., Tata Motors, YES Bank, ICICI Bank and NALCO were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
