Share market update: PSU bank shares down; Central Bank falls 10%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading lower in Tuesday's session.

Shares of Central Bank of India (down 9.88 per cent) , J & K Bank (down 4.99 per cent) , Punjab & Sind Bank (down 4.91 per cent) , Indian Overseas Bank (down 4.69 per cent) , Union Bank of India (down 1.22 per cent) , Bank of India (down 0.91 per cent) , Bank of Maharashtra (down 0.89 per cent) , Punjab National Bank (down 0.85 per cent) , Canara Bank (down 0.49 per cent) , Bank of Baroda (down 0.41 per cent) , State Bank of India (down 0.28 per cent) and Indian Bank (down 0.08 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 0.98 per cent down at 1439.25 around 02:14PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 49.90 points at 10362.3, while the BSE Sensex was up 167.02 points at 35128.54.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, BHEL, BEL, Ashok Leyland, SAIL, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, ITC, SBI and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
