Share market update: PSU bank shares tumble; Bank of Baroda slides 14%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading with losses in Monday's session.

Shares of Bank of Baroda (down 14.47 per cent), Canara Bank (down 13.82 per cent), Indian Bank (down 11.93 per cent), State Bank of India (down 10.51 per cent), Union Bank of India (down 8.58 per cent), J & K Bank (down 8.49 per cent), Bank of India (down 8.46 per cent), Punjab & Sind Bank (down 8.37 per cent), Central Bank of India (down 6.83 per cent), Bank of Maharashtra (down 4.42 per cent), Indian Overseas Bank (down 4.23 per cent), UCO Bank (down 4.12 per cent) and Punjab National Bank (down 3.68 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 10.26 per cent down at 1313.3 around 12:37 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 946.05 points at 7799.4 , while the BSE Sensex was down 3302.22 points at 26613.74.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 1 were trading in the green, while 49 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, SBI, ITC, ICICI Bank, IDFC First Bank Ltd., Tata Motors and Axis Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
