AHMEDABAD: Gujarat Island Development Authority at its third meeting with CM Vijay Rupani in chair here today decided to develop Pirotan Island in the Gulf of Kutch as Nature Related Activities Centre, including corals and bird watching spots.
A presentation was made as to how to reach the island between ebb and tide. It was also decided to form Bet Dwarka Island Development Authority for all round development of the island of great archaeological interest, and develop the Dwarka Industrial Training Institute (ITI) as Marine Skill Training Centre.

Looking to the great tourist potential of the group of islands, the meeting attended by Deputy Chief Minister Nitinbhai Patel, Revenue Minister Kaushikbhai Patel, Tourism Minister Jawaharbhai Chavda, Water Supply Minister Kunwarji Bavlia and Minister of State for Home Pradeepsinh Jadeja decided to get a detailed planning of the Pirotan-Shial Bet-Bet Dwarka belt at a cost of Rs.108-crore by global experts in the field.
