She was going to her in-laws’ place in Pratapgarh.

“At 8.30am, Kumar was informed that Nisha had gone into labour pain. He informed commercial control office at Kanpur and requested for a doctor at the station,” the PRO said.
However, before the train could reach Kanpur, her condition started deteriorating. The TTE searched in the train and found a passenger who was trained in carrying out deliveries.
“We had some anxious moments as I had requested the control room to keep the train moving despite fog as it would give courage to the woman,” Kumar told TOI.

On reaching Kanpur, doctors immediately attended to the mother and the newly-born was found in sound health. After administering requisite treatment to the mother and the newborn, the family decided to proceed for Pratapgrah by private ambulance.
“Both the mother and the baby are healthy. We are thankful to the TTE and fellow passengers. Without their help, this would not have been possible,” said Saddam, a relative of Manisha who was accompanying her to her in-laws village.
