Anna Salai blast: Country made bombs hurled on car in Chennai

Two motorcycle-borne men hurled a country made bomb on a Fortuner car near Teynampet police station on the Anna Salai in Chennai on Tuesday afternoon. The occupants of the car and other motorists escaped unhurt. The motorcycle and the car sped away.

CHENNAI: Two motorcycle-borne men hurled country made bombs on a Fortuner car near Teynampet police station on the Anna Salai in Chennai on Tuesday afternoon. The occupants of the car and other motorists escaped unhurt. The motorcycle and the car sped away.
A CCTV camera installed in the area recorded the incident that happened around 4pm. The motorcycle-borne men were going towards Teynampet.
The pillion rider hurled two country made bombs on the car that was coming from the opposite side. The bombs exploded, and a smoke engulfed the area.
A Maruti Swift car that was parked outside a car showroom suffered minor damage in the impact.
The reason for the men hurling the country made bombs on the car was not known. Police have formed a special team to probe the incident.
