Coronavirus in Tamil Nadu: MLA Govindarasu, PA test positive for Covid-19
THANJAVUR: Peravurani MLA M Govindarasu, 68, and his personal assistant, Ganesan, 28, tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday.
Both have been admitted to Government Medical College Hospital in Thanjavur.
Health department workers collected samples from family members of the duo. The family members were advised to home quarantine themselves until the test results were declared.

A health department official said the AIADMK MLA’s son, S Ilango, and Ganesan met several people on Wednesday evening. Health workers started to trace their contacts.
A source said Govindarasu visited a private hospital in Thanjavur a week ago to meet his friend who had met with an accident.
On July 20, the MLA visited the Covid-19 ward at Peravurani Government Hospital to take stock of the availability of equipment and facility. After this visit, he gave his swab sample for testing and home quarantined himself.
