Hyderabad: Telugu TV actress K Sravani hangs self

HYDERABAD: Telugu TV actress K Sravani died of suicide on Tuesday night. The family found the actress hanging inside her room in Madhura Nagar area.
The actor, Sravani, had gained fame during for her role in the Telugu TV serial Manasu Mamata. According to SR Nagar police, the family alleged that she had a close friendship with a man, Devaraju for the past one year.They met on TikTok and starting chatting.
“The boy had earlier asked her for financial support. He was also doing small-time roles in TV serials. But later he started pestering the actress to get married to him,” said SR Nagar inspector, Narsimha Reddy.
In June this year, a case was registered against Devaraju in SR Nagar police station under 354-D (stalking), 427 (Mischief causing damage) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC. He is currently in Kakinada of Andhra Pradesh.
“Sravani told her family that she had stopped talking to him, but continued keeping in touch. On Tuesday when she came back home, she was pulled up by her family for continuing relationship with Devaraju,” added the inspector.
She went to her room and locked the door from inside. After a couple of hours, when she did not come out, her mother got suspicious and checked through the window only to find her hanging at around 9 pm.
“No suicide note was found. But the family of the actress had made allegations against Devaraju, hence we have lodged a complaint and sent a team to Andhra Pradesh to question him,” added the inspector. The body was later shifted to Osmania hospital for postmortem and a case was registered under section 306 (Abetment of suicide.) of IPC.
