HYDERABAD: Telangana Congress president and Nalgonda MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Sunday said the resentment against the TRS government was on the rise among the people who were looking towards the Congress to highlight and find a solution to the problems being faced by them.
He called upon the party cadre to further strengthen the party at grass root levels by focussing on issues concerning the people.
Addressing the District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents, Uttam gave credit to their hard work for the Congress having a strong base in rural areas.
Despite having a strong base, the party lost in 2014 and 2018 Assembly elections due to various factors and that the cadre should work on filling those gaps between the voters and the party, he said.
“People are not happy with the performance of the TRS government. The corruption is at its peak in all the government departments and people are being subjected to huge inconvenience due to lack of accountability among elected representatives of the ruling party. The TRS leaders are accumulating wealth through corruption and using a part of it to win elections,” Uttam alleged.
Except KCR’s family, none of the ministers, ruling party MLAs or even senior officials have direct access to Pragathi Bhavan, the camp office-cum-residence of CM KCR.
Uttam asked the DCC presidents to identify the important local issues concerning the people in their respective districts and fight for their justice. Several sections of the society which supported the TRS in previous elections have now distanced themselves from chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and other TRS leaders. "TRS will soon be history and Congress is the only future," he said.
Stressing on the importance of team work, the TPCC chief said all the Congress members who have been working hard to strengthen the party would get due recognition.
