Covid-19: Patiala administration to distribute 1.5 lakh masks free among the masses

PATIALA: In first of its kind the district administration in Patiala is all set to get around 1.5 lakh masks made of cotton in accordance with the standard of World Health Organisation (WHO). These masks will be distributed free of cost among the staff working in the fields in Patiala especially the health workers and the police personnel
These masks will be manufactured by the self-help groups in Patiala district.
Patiala ADC (D) Preeti Yadav said that all the masks will be double and triple layered.
There are over 25 self-help groups across nine blocks in the district and the administration has a tie-up with these groups. The decision has been taken by the deputy commissioner to boost the morale of the field workers and also to counter the menace of the scarcity of masks.
