Punjab: 2 nabbed with 1 kg heroin in Patiala

In a major haul of drug recovery, the police in Patiala have nabbed two persons and recovered 1kg heroin from their possession.

PATIALA: In a major haul of drug recovery, the police in Patiala have nabbed two persons and recovered 1kg heroin from their possession. According to the cops, the accused were nabbed during police checking at a barrier set up at Bhadson road in Patiala.
The accused have been identified as Gaurav Soni alias Nannu of Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh and Kaptan Singh Mittu of Kangra in Himachal Pradesh.
The police revealed that both accused are Class XII pass outs and were employed in a private company for which they used to supply feed and vaccination to poultry farms in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi.
According to the police, the accused had brought the heroin from a Nigeria national in Delhi. He has been identified as Freky. The cops are investigating if the accused were booked in any other NDPS case in the past.
Patiala SP (investigation) HS Hundal said, "The accused will soon be produced in the court. We have recovered 1kg heroin from their possession and registered a case against them under various sections of the NDPS Act. We are carrying out probe regarding the proposed deal of the heroin and where the accused were supposed to deliver the consignment."
