Punjab: Relatives of bride kill groom's father, 4 booked in Patiala

In a case of alleged honour killing, the police here have booked four persons under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including murder and common intention for killing a middle-aged man.

PATIALA: In a case of alleged honour killing, the police here have booked four persons under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including murder and common intention for killing a middle-aged man. Both the accused and the deceased were working as labourers at a brick kiln in Khanpur village of Patiala.
The deceased has been identified as Ramu Kumar of Bihar, who was living near the brick kiln in Khanpur village and was a neighbour to the accused.

The cops said on March 6, the deceased's son married the sister of the accused against everyone's wish. Since then he is missing.
The accused have been identified as Ginder, Guddu, Shibu and their relative Sagar - all brothers of the bride.
"The accused raided the house of the bridegroom but could not find him and later landed in a verbal spat with his father. The accused strangled him to death with a rope. A case was registered on Saturday on the complaint of Ramu's other son Monu Kumar. We are investigating the matter. No one has been arrested so far," said inspector Mehma Singh, SHO of Kheri Gandhian police station.
